The Taglay Pinoy Program, spearheaded by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) and backed by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is dedicated to helping Philippine micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) thrive in an increasingly digital world. Launched to address the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the program aims to empower Filipino MSMEs through an integrated approach to export marketing, leveraging high-quality digital assets to enhance their competitiveness on both local and global stages.
Taglay Pinoy focuses on developing professionally produced digital content—such as product photos, videos, and company profiles—that MSMEs can use to promote their products through CITEM’s flagship platforms: Manila FAME, IFEX Philippines, and CREATEPhilippines. The program, set to run in three phases, will begin with the launch of dedicated microsites for key industries, a content development initiative covering various provinces, and a grand launch at Manila FAME 2024.
Phase 2, slated for 2025, will see Taglay Pinoy expanding its reach through physical showcases and capacity-building seminars for MSMEs, followed by a broader implementation in Phase 3, where the program will incorporate additional regions and include select overseas market-sensing missions. The program, originally championed by Congressman Christopher De Venecia, has now gained the support of Congresswoman Lani Mercado-Revilla, representing Cavite’s 2nd district, ensuring that more MSMEs can benefit from this transformative initiative.
With its sights set on equipping over 320 MSMEs with top-tier digital content, Taglay Pinoy is poised to create lasting impacts by strengthening the global market presence of Filipino products, promoting sustainability, and driving the growth of the Philippine creative industries.
