Located in San Miguel, Leyte, Abre Linea Incorporated was founded by high school friends Anna Veloso Tuazon, Claude Rodrigo Canete, and Joy Yu in response to the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan. Established as a social enterprise, Abre Linea blends contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship, creating beautifully handcrafted bags and baskets from indigenous materials. Their mission is to provide sustainable livelihoods to weaving communities in Leyte and Samar, offering them an opportunity to rebuild through their craft.
The name Abre, which means "open" in Waray, reflects the company's commitment to opening doors for artisans affected by Haiyan, connecting them to government development networks and growth opportunities. Every purchase directly supports these communities, ensuring that proceeds benefit the artisans and their families, while preserving the rich cultural traditions of Region VIII.
Abre Linea’s products are a testament to the beauty and resilience of Filipino craftsmanship, making a positive impact on both the local economy and the lives of those involved in its creation.
